International Holocaust Remembrance Day, or the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, is an international memorial day on 27th January that commemorates the victims of the Holocaust. It was designated by United Nations General Assembly resolution on 1 November 2005.

The Holocaust was the genocide of six million Jews, two-thirds of Europe’s Jewish population, and millions of others during World War II, between 1941 and 1945, by the Nazi regime and its collaborators.

World AIDS Day, designated on 1st December every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.

World AIDS Day is one of the eleven official global public health campaigns marked by the World Health Organization (WHO), along with World Health Day, World Blood Donor Day, World Immunization Week, World Tuberculosis Day, World No Tobacco Day, World Malaria Day, World Hepatitis Day, World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, World Patient Safety Day and World Chagas Disease Day.

World Day of Social Justice is celebrated annually on 20th February to promote social justice, which includes efforts to tackle poverty, exclusion, gender inequality, unemployment, human rights, and social protections.
